1. What you can report
- Fraud, theft or misappropriation of funds or assets.
- Money laundering, terrorism financing or sanctions breaches.
- Corruption, bribery, kickbacks or conflict of interest.
- Falsification of records, insider abuse, regulatory breach.
- Discrimination, harassment, workplace safety violations.
- Any other unethical, illegal or unsafe conduct.
2. Reporting channels
- Independent hotline: +234 (0) 800 WHISTLE — operated by an external third party.
- Email: whistleblow@bompaimfb.com (monitored by the Board Audit Committee Chair).
- Secure web form: available 24/7, anonymous submission supported.
- Post: The Chair, Board Audit Committee, P.O. Box [###], Kano.
- CBN: ethicsoffice@cbn.gov.ng for matters that affect the safety and soundness of the financial system.
3. Protection for whistleblowers
You may report anonymously. We do not tolerate retaliation in any form — disciplinary action will be taken against anyone who victimises a whistleblower. Confidentiality of your identity is protected to the fullest extent permitted by law.
4. How reports are handled
- Acknowledgement within 5 working days (if contact details provided).
- Independent investigation by Internal Audit or an external party where appropriate.
- Feedback on outcome within 60 days, where confidentiality permits.
- Findings reported to the Board Audit Committee and, where required, to regulators.
5. False or malicious reports
Reports made in good faith are protected even if not substantiated. Knowingly false or malicious reports may be subject to disciplinary or legal action.
